Pretty Pushers for Mamas-to-Be

Expectant mamas will be interested in this new product, especially if you are like me and haven’t heard of it before! The only thing that I don’t understand about them is why they made them disposable?! Why not make them reusable to save on buying them again and again if we happen to fall in love with them?!

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more babies are born in the summer months than any other time of year. Hmmm…well, Sarah and I fall into this category this year, don’t we? This probably means more baby showers for first-time moms during this time, as well. So for those who tend to eschew the usual diaper bin and terrycloth onesie-gift approach and instead embrace a more unique, clever gift for mommy-to-be…this is a fun idea…

NYC-based Pretty Pushers has perfected labor and delivery fashion and promises to tickle even the most stylish and demanding expecting mom.

For those choosing hospital births, this cleverly designed and adjustable gown, which is disposable, one size fits most delivery gowns are designed with openings in all the right places to accommodate epidurals, fetal monitors, and other IV cords. Incorporating unfinished edges and few seams, these one-time use delivery gowns serve their purpose and then can simply be thrown away. (And they will actually break down much more quickly and naturally than would any bleach compounds or detergent bottles.) But of course, those of us planning home births might want to consider our fashion side too when planning our home delivery, right?

Here is Pretty Pushers A Dressed Up Delivery Gift Set (Yellow or Blue), which costs $34

Gift set includes:
v One halter style gown made from 100% light weight cotton.
v Matching headband to keep hair out of the way during labor.
v One lemon water towelette for a refreshing polish before the big push.
v One get ready to rub heated massage oil, to ease tension during childbirth.
v One picture perfect sheer pink lip gloss with mirror to prepare for photos!

They tell us that all their packaging is PVC-free and Pretty Pushers cosmetics are never tested on animals. Pretty Pushers also utilizes as much recycled and recyclable material as possible in the packaging and shipping components. All products are 100% Made in America. www.prettypushers.com

Wow, I would have so bought this if I knew about this product when I had my son. Maybe next time around.

This would be really great but I think the key would be to have it handy. When I went into the hospital it was straight from work – no camera, change of clothes, toothbrush, nada! Haha, I wasn’t prepared at all.

I first saw the Pretty Pushers gowns at Nest Maternity in San Francisco,
and then decided to go back and buy the organic cotton gown for my
sister. After her first birth, she complained the hospital gowns were
uncomfortable and itchy to her skin, therefore the Pretty Pushers gown was the
ideal solution! The cotton is incredibly soft, not to mention it was easy to wear
and use during delivery in the hospital. Now I can look forward to wearing one for myself in 8 months!

Amber, the gift set is a great size and light-weight to grab on the go. It is compacted appropriately and easy to open for the big day–I’m glad I had one!
