Ok, I do not know about you, but the new Glamour Survey does not surprise me. Women are bombarded on every side with air brushed photos and unless you are Super Woman (comfortable in your skin and can think positive thoughts all the time), it is just plain hard not to succumb to the media’s portrayal of beauty.
In this new survey was done exclusively by Glamour, young women recorded an average of 13 brutal thoughts about their bodies each day (some had as many as 35, 50 or even 100!). 300 women of all sizes from across the country were asked to note every negative or anxious thought they had about their bodies over the course of one full day. The results shocked us more than 97 percent admitted to having at least one ³I hate my body² moment. Some of the comments recorded were, ³You¹re bigger than her, fatty,² ³Your stomach is fat. That is why you are alone,² and ³Oh my God, look at her waist and legs! We¹re the same height. She looks like a model. I look like a lumpy sock.²
