Netherlands-based Mutsy, recognized for its modernistic stroller designs featuring a distinctive modular, flexible system, introduces the Mutsy Duoseat, a front and rear seating unit that can be used with their popular Mutsy 4Rider stroller chassis.

Mutsy’s solution for parents with two young children (mom can now use her 4Rider chassis even after the arrival of a new member in the family!), the Duoseat is a special insert with two seats that can be combined with the 4Rider stroller chassis. The Duoseat’s compact styling offers the benefit of being able to transport two children without the hindrance of a double width stroller. The seat allows for easy turning in tight places and full access even through the narrowest of doors.

The front seat is suitable for children 6 months and older. The rear seat, suitable from birth, can be placed in 4 positions, including a reclined position for baby. Each seat unit has its own hood and the Duoseat offers great stability, safety and comfort for its little passengers. Available in Navy, the Mutsy Duoseat has a recommended retail of $199 (chassis not included). The Duoseat/Chassis combination has a recommended retail of $599. Optional footmuffs are available for purchase for each seat. The footmuffs provide for warmth in cold weather and the rear seat muff also offers additional support and cushioning for baby. Baby can be placed in the muff during winter/colder weather months and on top of the muff during summer/warmer weather months. The optional footmuffs have a recommended retail of $49.

DuoSeat can be purchased online at www.mutsy.com and at leading specialty juvenile products retailers nationwide.

Silikids announces the debut of a new siliskin color, info for you below…and Silikids bottles are tough enough for a tiger! An Australian distributor shared a special tiger’s tale and we were asked to share it with all of you! The story follows below.

There is a very special little boy named Kinwah who just turned one and still loves his Silikids bottle in the afternoon. Adorable!

Photos of Kinwah below as well as in Kinwah’s story.

Kinwah lives at the Mogo Zoo in the owner’s backyard and was rescued and has been hand raised ever since. He will most likely move into the zoo park full time when he is older.

Here is a recent story about Kinwah:

Los Angeles-based Silikids®, manufacturer of an innovative line of silicone-based children’s products expands their popular siliskins collection of safe, silicone bottle sleeves with the introduction of stylish red siliskins.

Ok, as time winds down to 5-7 plus weeks before baby arrives, I find myself taking stock of things we need to replace (or need more of) for this new baby. One thing is receiving blankets. Several years ago I found an ultra soft receiving blanket, at a garage sale no less and in mint condition too. It is still very soft and in decent condition, but the tag no longer says the brand – it’s completely worn off. It is a cute receiving blanket with bears bordering the sides in blue, pink and yellow colors on a white background. As if describing it will help you all help me with the brand?! So as I was thinking about baby stuff this morning, I thought I would check to see what brands of receiving blankets you all have found to be the softest, most long lasting ones and that you’d highly recommend.

I am wondering if Carter’s or an organic brand might baby brands to consider. The thing is I want something that have been truly tried and tested by moms. I don’t want to waste time or money on brands that will not meet the softness test or wear out fast with frequent washings. The one below is one that I came across while searching for receiving blankets, it’s an American Baby Company Organic Embroidered Receiving Blanket that I have never heard of before.

I love using baby receiving blankets for light nursing covers in the summertime, as a light blanket to keep the chill off of baby and even as burp cloths. Believe it or not. They have more coverage than a little itty bitty piece of cloth – we all know how much a baby can spit up at times! Especially if they are a hard to burp baby.

So please send me your recommendations for your softest, favorite brand of baby receiving blankets! Remember the clock is ticking as I feel about ready to burst. ;-o

I remember when I was younger seeing the occasional mom using a leather harness that wrapped around a child like a harness does a horse or dog. My mother really disliked them and I have to say that they are not that appealing to me either. It’s probably for that reason that I have never used one. But what about you, what’s your take on kid safety harnesses? Safety harness is probably the name they give them to make them sound more civilized than a leash. After all we leash dogs, possibly cats, not people, right?

Here are some styles of safety harnesses that I found available. Please let me know if you have used any of them and if you found them helpful or not. They seem like a very inexpensive piece of toddler/child equipment.

So as cute as the backpack is and as handy a Tommi Guard would be for sets of multiples, what do you really think about putting your child on a leash? I see the safety reasons behind it, but I still don’t think I could use one. Is it just me or are there others out there that feel the same way?

If you have used safety harnesses, do they work and how have they benefited you if they do?

I love hand-made, knit or crochet items. A couple of weeks ago at a garage sale I saw a beautiful baby set in blue that was either knitted or crocheted. As as I fingered it, it was one of the first times I wished I knew the sex of our baby! It was decently priced and reminded me of what my grandmother and great aunts would make.

Sarah-Jean found this next little item on Etsy and thought it was absolutely adorable and clever. So since we have been on the topic of nursing and breastfeeding, I thought I would share this cute accessory. It definitely makes a breastfeeding statement for those of us desiring to do so!

Here is the Boobie Beanie by SarasStitches, an Etsy store. It is a cleverly designed completely hand-made, crocheted infant hat. It actually looks like a breast and can be worn by a baby, toddler or child while they are nursing! SarasStitches is very creative and talented, if you ask me!

The Boobie Beanie is made of 100% cotton, which those of you who have felt organic cotton, you know its very soft. The fact that it is hand crocheted tells us that it will be very warm too, as hand-made items tend to be.

SaraStitches gives you the option of a pink nipple or a brown one. She can also make it in a different skin tone or size. This breastfeeding baby product may be purchased for $15.00 at the following link: http://www.etsy.com/listing/48683858/boobie-beanie

Fashionable Media Review Policy: The featured product for this review was provided to me, at no cost, by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are not influenced by mo1netary compensation.

Well, I totally forgot to do this post before I left for the day! Here it is a little late, but here nonetheless. Ok, if any of you read this last night, then you will know that I thought I forgot to do my afternoon post for the day. That’s the reason why the first sentence is crossed out. Then as I am checking things out again and trying to get upcoming posts straight in my head, I realized I actually wanted Belly 9 to post on Friday morning, not Thursday afternoon! Talk about a long, tiring day and I keep using my pregnancy as an excuse for my seemingly “scatterbrained” ways, but really I think it is busyness, as in too much busyness and I don’t think it is going to let up anytime soon. So bear with me here, at least until this baby comes because I know I am going to do something out of the ordinary or forget to do something or another. And the only thing that is going to slow me down is a newborn who will need me 24/7.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled post…

Belly 9 is a cute little company offering maternity tees, tanks and baby tees and hat sets. These items are all American made in Los Angeles.

Here is how Belly 9 describes themselves:

Belly 9 Maternity T-shirts are fun, hip and flattering with something for every taste. Our Maternity T-shirts are made of soft, form fitted stretchy 100% cotton designed for growing bellies so it is never too early or too late to purchase our tees. We know that with our Belly 9 Maternity T-shirts, you’ll be showing your style for the whole 9 months.

First the negative – Belly 9 does not accomodate plus size mamas, so I am not sure they could accomodate an expectant mama expecting twins or any other multiples either.

The positives, their baby sets are very soft and have little shrinkage. The hat is bigger than other hats that I have seen in sets or even the hospital caps. We received the Milk, Milk, Milk set. I chose this because all babies seem to want is milk the first 6 months, plus it was cute. This set retails for $18.00. They have white and black available.

For the maternity tees, please visit www.Belly9.com

It has adjustable straps for the best fit and height of parent and is safe and comfortable for baby with zip-up front and padded vest made from high quality, durable fabric that is easy to clean and Machine Washable!
Juppy sent me a walker to review, but I can’t actually try it out yet since my baby isn’t born yet! I’m not due until August, so I probably won’t get to actually use this until late Winter 2011. When I do use it though, I will come back and let you know what I think! From examining it first hand, I can see that it’s going to be great and I can’t wait to take it for a test drive!

I know that we have featured lots of baby blankets, but we all have various tastes and desires in what we want in and from baby products. So it only seems logical to feature a wide variety of items, including baby blankets.

Luv My Woobie is a fashionable baby blanket. Yes, yet another unique baby blanket. It is very soft like chenille, trimmed in satin and appealing to the eye. For those who use pacifiers, you will be happy to know that the Luv My Woobie has a little pocket on the back side to store a pacifier. It even has a Velcro closure so hopefully no more losing pacifier! Those of us that don’t use pacifiers, our children will find it a fun little toy holder for the toys. Our 4-year-old has actually been using her Luv My Woobie in the car (and our 2-year-old has been using his Happy Blanket in the car) since the little ones get cold when we are running the air conditioner; while the rest of us are roasting!

I couldn’t decide whether or not to wait until August to see if we have another girl or just let my daughter use it, so I figured our Luv My Woobie may as well get used now.

The one thing that I missed when I took the opportunity to review Luv My Woobie is it’s fabric. The one my daughter got is pinks and browns with flowers – everything my daughter loves – except it has skulls on it. They are not scary skulls, they have bows, crowns, bandanas and flowers on their heads and hearts, X’s, and moons for eyes. Therefore they are almost feminine looking, as much as skulls can be. That is my only negative or complaint, if it can be called that because skulls just are not my preference. But my daughter doesn’t seem to mind and seems to think they are “little girls”. Gotta love a child’s point of view! And I just found out that this Luv My Woobie is called Sydney and retails for $74.00! I really didn’t do my homework on this product, did I? Must have responded late at night or something! Wow, thanks Luv My Woobie!

Luv My Woobie comes in many different fabric choices so be sure to check their website for not only baby blankets, but their smaller travel blankets, burp clothes, bedding, accessories and even their organic line at www.LuvMyWoobie.com

I thought you might be interested in this new pregnancy product – it’s a prenatal music belt. We all have heard of the benefits of talking to or playing music for baby while they are gestating in our womb. Now, instead of putting a pair of headphones on our bellies, we can now plug in our newest technological gadgets – ipod or MP3 Player or simply plug into our laptops while surfing and working on the net.

While some experts say listening to music in the womb encourages learning, language development and memory skills, we don’t know for sure until there are further studies done. But what newly expectant mama isn’t up for trying to play music in hopes that after delivery baby will sleep better? I know our first child and our seventh child kept us awake for hours those first few nights and I really thought I’d die of exhaustion! I didn’t but know I’d be willing to try almost anything in desperation, kwim?

According to Lullabelly, this new prenatal music belt offers a more modern, comfortable way to help your baby’s development with your favorite music! And offers daddy a way to get involved too, as he can help pick music and add his own favorites to the playlist.

Have any of you tried stretching a headset across your belly? I don’t recall that I have, but I could have and just don’t remember. I imagine it is awkward. The Lullabelly prenatal music belt can be used whether you are on the go or just relaxing home. It is extremely
soft, flexible and . The large pocket is ideal for carrying your portable MP3 player or other small accessories. The Lullabelly even comes with built-in speakers and adjustable volume control. It is also machine washable, but remember to take out the headset and speakers first though! There is also an extension available for the last trimester growth of baby. Lullabelly will charge you the small fee of $2.95 for shipping. It is available in blue, pink, green, chocolate brown/mint and yellow. It retails for $55.00.
