Tom & Drew is Proud to Announce the Launch of the Spring/Summer 2011 collection : A Clothing Line That Lets Boys Be Boys…In Style. They were just in New York this past weekend at Playtime. This boys collection is sweet and fun!

The ducklings are hatching, the bass are biting and the sharks are circling; it’s spring/summer time! Tom & Drew’s SS11 collection took inspiration from childhood memories spent on Cape Cod. You will find attire that is appropriate for every occasion; from lemonade stand sales to beach bonfires to summer camp swimming lessons to evenings spent with parents at the local Yacht Club.

For the SS11 collection, there will be three deliveries, each taking inspiration from different animals; ducks, striped bass and sharks.

Tom & Drew is excited to be one of the first children’s wear companies to introduce Japanese selvedge denim to the market. T&D’s denim is of the highest possible quality and has been imported from Osaka, Japan. The selvedge denim paired with appliqué pima cotton t-shirts, “slubby” jersey reversible hoodies and light weight “space dyed” knit sweaters make for perfect summer outfits.

My Vintage Baby Review

We received a gorgeous outfit from My Vintage Baby. It is from their Summer Days collection (scroll down to Summer Days) and we really love it! It is a two piece capris set that is teal with pink flower. We think it looks darling on our daughter and she loves it because it has pink in it! Our daughter is quite tall for her age so we did end up going with the next size up for her, which worked out well and with room to grow.

The outfit did not seem to shrink when we washed it, but we didn’t dry it in the dryer or outside on the line because I didn’t want the colors to fade. So the dryer may cause some shrinkage, but I cannot tell you for sure that since we didn’t use ours.

The Summer Days capris set retails for $64.00. They also have a babyset available and a dress. Not only do they have little girls clothing but they have boys clothing, a few things in women’s apparel, accessories and morel. They have some pretty cute stuff, I must say.

My Vintage Baby was created and founded by Jessica Wiswall and Lisa Welsh. Through the years their brand has made it into Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus and over 800 high end boutiques. Sense and Sensibility

Ok, this post is on the personal side, but I wanted to share it for those who sew! Sorry, it isn’t about the movie, Sense and Sensibility (the old version), although we did like that too. It is raining here today and since we are not gardening, my girls wanted to sew. They have already said a number of times, “Mommy, I love to sew.”

One daughter wanted to work on new skirts, so she’s been sewing those up. My other daughter wanted to make pinafores. What is a pinafore, some might ask, it is what Laura and Mary wore over their dresses, like an apron, in Little House in the Prairie (see photo below of Laura and Carrie’s). Our daughters like these to protect their clothing while doing chores, as painting smocks and just because they have loved that era since they were toddlers.

The pattern we are using is from Sense and Sensibility called Girl Pinafore and Pantaloons Pattern, it costs $12.95:

We have about 4-6 pinafores already cut out and scattered over the room. I am making a ruffle for the bottom to add length and because my all of my daughters want ruffles on their new pinafores.

Our oldest is working on Christmas gifts, if you can believe that. She wants to make her little brother and sister new patchwork quilts since theirs are getting worn out.

So what do you all do on rainy days?
