Maya Wrap Baby Sling

As a very busy mom who is always on the go, it’s hard to tote around my 4 month old and still get things done. When my daughter was only a few weeks old, I couldn’t get anything done. I was carrying her around all the time, because she refused to be happy anywhere else. I had to make blog posts with one hand, dishes with one hand, laundry with one hand, and don’t even ask me how I made dinner every night. Thankfully, I discovered a different way of carrying my little one.

Baby slings are the most convenient way of carrying around your newborn. They are also quite fashionable too! They are available in a variety of fabrics and sizes.

I have been reviewing and testing different baby slings and wraps for over 3 months now. The fourth wrap I decided to try was from Maya Wrap Slings and was definitely my favorite one of all!

Maya Wraps

I have the Original Maya Wrap Sling in color #35.

The Maya Wrap is unlike any other sling or baby carrier I’ve tried. Completely unique and totally awesome!

It may only come in 4 different sizes, but it is completely customizable to the fullest extent. Unpadded, open tail that allows for perfect adjustability and is convenient as a nursing cover as well!

Wear newborns through toddlers in a variety of positions. All Maya wraps purchased from their website comes with an instructional DVD to show you all the various positions you can use. Wraps are recommended for children up to 35 pounds.

All of the Maya Wraps are made of beautiful hand-loomed, breathable fabrics that include a built in pocket for keys, diaper, cell phone etc. They are also machine washable.

These wraps are bigger than the slings I reviewed, but they still fit easily into a diaper bag or purse. And celebrities use Maya wraps. Check it out >>

Original Maya Wrap Unpadded Slings are $49.95. They also have the Maya Wrap Lightly Padded Sling for $55.95 and the Maya Adjustable Pouch.

I went to a Baby Wearing Group at the Birthing Center where I had my daughter and they let you try on a bunch of different carriers. I had the opportunity to try out the Maya Pouch, and I loved it. They don’t have any available on their website right now, but you can look for them on eBay.

Baby slings are the most convenient way of carrying around your newborn. They are also quite fashionable too! They are available in a variety of fabrics and sizes.

I have been reviewing and testing different baby slings and wraps for over 3 months now. The third one I received was from Lucky Baby.

Lucky Baby Slings

I have the Chloe Print Reversible Sling.

Lucky Baby slings are a little bit different then the other slings I have reviewed. The general construction is different and many of these slings have inseam pockets to carry your cell phone, keys, or wallet with you when you go. The slings are also lighter weight and fold up smaller and more compact, making them the easiest to take with you in a diaper bag or purse.

And as with the other slings, Lucky Baby slings offer a variety of different holding positions. These slings are great for newborns up until the toddler stage. My daughter is only 4 months old, but I can use 2 out of the 5 carrying positions and I’m always confident that she is safe and secure in the sling.

They are available in 5 sizes and many different fabrics. Click here to browse their online store.

Their website says: “We’re busy moms and dads just like you. So we want the same things. We want to feel like we’re doing the best for our child. Giving them everything that they need. It’s what makes us feel good about the job we’re doing. Wearing your child in a sling will give you that feeling, and that confidence.”

Lucky Baby Slings range in price from $23 – $45 depending on the fabric you choose, making these the most affordable slings. Buy one now >>

The second one I received was from Hotslings.

Hotslings Baby Slings

I have the Black Stretch Padded Sling.

Hotslings pouches are an innovative design that combine fashion with function. Just because you are a mom (or dad) now doesn’t mean you will be stuck with bears, bunnies, blue plaid and pink gingham. Nor will you be stuck with a front pack that only is good for your baby’s first few months while it pulls mercilessly on your upper back.

The Hotslings baby sling features a sleek, one-piece fitted design. There are many fashionable fabrics to choose from in today’s colors and styles. Plus, they are easy to use! No snaps, rings, buckles or fuss.

Hotslings are available in 9 different sizes for a precise fit. They spreads evenly across your back to help evenly distribute the weight. And the original sleek leg padding design to minimize cutting into tender knees.

These slings are extremely compact and fold down to nothing in your diaper bag or purse. And they promotes bonding, breastfeeding, closeness and trust.

If your baby likes to be swaddled, a wonderful sling will be your best friend. Helps colicky babies too. Finally you can live your life with a calm, close, attached, happy baby. Stop carrying that heavy car seat bucket and be the envy of the playground!

I also have the Deluxe Pool Pouch. I use it to take my daughter in the shower with me. She loves it!!

The pool pouch has two layers of Solarveil mesh provide 90% UV protection. Supportive enough for even heavy babies and toddlers. Rails are serged with soft thread to protect little legs. Use at the pool, in the shower, or around town in the jungle-heat. Key/toy loop included. And right now it’s on sale for $36.40. Go buy one >>

With 5 carrying positions, you have variety for whatever age your baby is. They are great for newborns up until the toddler stage. My daughter is only 4 months old, but I can use 2 out of the 5 carrying positions and I’m always confident that she is safe and secure in the sling.

I loved my Black Stretch Padded Sling that I decided to buy another one. I got a black fleece one on eBay for $20.50. It’s been great this fall with the cold weather. It keeps her warm and snug.

Hotslings range in price from about $28 – $60 depending on the fabric you choose. Buy one now >>

Baby slings are the most convenient way of carrying around your newborn. They are also quite fashionable too! They are available in a variety of fabrics and sizes.

I have been reviewing and testing different baby slings and wraps for over 3 months now. The first one I received was from Slinglings.

Slinglings Baby Slings

I have the Organic Hemp Blend Stretch Twill Padded sling and it is definitely one of my favorites, as I use it the most often out of all my slings.

Slings are hands free, perfect for active parents like me! I’m even able to nurse my daughter in the baby sling and still have both my hands free. When she was 2 months old, she was quite fussy, and having her close to me all the time helped keep her content.

Having her right with me all the time really helped us both transition to our new roles. People don’t realize what a huge change it can be for both mommy and baby after birth. Slings definitely promote the bond between parent and child.

Slings are very versatile and have many carrying positions, making it easy to find what’s best for you and your baby. Plus, the slings are suitable for newborns through toddlers up to 35 lbs. The design comfortably distributes baby’s weight and the slings come in 10 sizes for a perfect fit. Find your size >> Some slings even have leg padding for baby’s comfort in the hip carry. (I got a padded baby sling.)

Because of it’s compact design, it can be folded up and stored in your diaper bag or purse. And there are many fun and fashionable fabric choices. Plus, they are easy to care for. Just throw them in the washing machine, line dry, and you’re good to go.

Check out all the fabulous fabric choices. View all 54 padded sling fabrics or view all 63 unpadded sling fabrics.

Slinglings range in price from $36 – $49 depending on the fabric or style you choose. Buy one now >>

Breastfeeding Essentials For New Moms

Lily Padz Non-Absorbent Nursing Pad – $19.99

This is the ultimate nursing pad. They are clear, non-absorbent, and discreet. Most nursing pads I have found to be quite bulky and obvious under clothing. With Lily Padz though, you can’t even tell they are there. They stick to your skin, so you also have the option of not wearing a bra. Or you can wear them in bathing suits! I think these nursing pads are great and I’m so glad I found them.

If you have small nipples, they aren’t completely leak-proof as advertised. I think the bigger your nips are, the better these pads work.

Nursing Camisole – $.99 and up

I have a gray one from Target and a black one from Motherhood and I love both of them. I think nursing camis are the best invention ever. They are so convenient as you don’t have to wear a bra with them. They make nursing at home and in public, really easy. Plus, it’s easy to glam them up a bit. Just add a blazer, sweater shrug, or a fitted button down shirt on top. It’s a must-have basic for every fashionable mom that breastfeeds.

Medela Comfort Nursing Bra – $29.99

This is the most comfortable nursing bra I have tried so far. I think $30 for a bra is quite expensive, especially since it’s not from Victoria’s Secret, but this one is worth every penny. (You can get them cheap on ebay) Besides the fact that it’s very comfortable and un-clips easily with one hand, you still need two hands to clip it back. That’s the only thing I don’t like about it. Everything else is perfect!
