About Poketo

Poketo is a design studio founded by the husband and wife team of Ted Vadakan and Angie Myung Ted and Angie offer fun and accessible limited edition art products that showcase original artwork by Poketo’s community of celebrated international artists
They offer accessories, apparel and home décor—art for your everyday.

The three products I received from them were designed by artist Dan Funderburgh. Dan is a wallpaper designer and artist based in Brooklyn. His patterns, prints, and installations vary in content, but all demonstrate an unabashed love for decorative arts, with influences ranging from Moorish mosaic to American op art. His work rejects the fabricated schism between art and decoration.

Umbrella

Water Bottle

Weekender Bag

My Review

I really like these products. I especially like the unique design that Dan Funderburgh has created for them. The umbrella is like most umbrellas on the market and probably would not survive under strong gusts of wind, but very functional in rainy weather. The weekender bag is extremely roomy. It has an inside zipper pocket, plus 2 outside pockets. The straps are similar to what sturdy tote bags have for handles, so it appears that it could carry heavy loads and withstand the weight. The bag closes with a single magnetic snap. I am seriously considering using this as an extra diaper bag with all the things we will have to cart around with three children under four. I don’t think I’d use this bag for books though since the lining is made of thin polyester and may be punctured or ripped by the corner of a hardcover book.

The water bottle seems to have a distinct odor that concerns me, so I don’t think water will be able to sit in it for extended periods of time or the odor may taint the taste of the water.

You may visit Poketo.com for more information about the company and additional product lines.

I’m always on the look out for big bags like this – and I think you’re right, it would make a great diaper bag. So so cute too!
