Olsen Haus Girl Espadrilles

I received a pair of Olsen Haus Girl Espadrilles in yellow in exchange for doing a review. They are a well made sandle, the stitching is tight and so is the bond between the top layer and sole of the shoe. These actually have a buckle! You don’t find real buckle shoes very often anymore. Velcro is a wonderful invention, but I really find that it tends wears out over the long haul on kids shoes, so I really prefer a buckle. The Espadrilles sandles are organically made, so they are very eco friendly. Not to mention stylish. The sole of the shoe has a cute little duck on it, plus a flower with the size of the shoe. I can see little girls having fun making footprints in the sand with these because they will leave a unique imprint. They are made in Mexico and come in limited sizes and color at this time.

Goblin Kids, not that isn’t kids dressed up for Halloween, but a toy company that has offered to sponsor a $25 Gift Card Giveaway for the next two weeks! They has some fabulously cute toys! By the way, I asked Saza Carruthers, Owner of Goblin Kids how she came up with the name for her company and this is what she said,

I wanted to associate the name of my company with my childhood (since I grew up in Europe and was starting a business specializing in European toys). The first thing that came to mind was that children’s stories and fairy tales commonly had goblins in them, much more so than here, so I thought it was a cute idea for a name that had some ties to Europe.”

Kathe Kruse is another German manufacturer that offers a great selection of hand crafted plush dolls, all made in Germany. It’s a bit pricier of a brand since all their toys are hand crafted (to a large degree) and made in Germany, amazing quality. Their new line of 18″ cloth dolls made of 100% cotton and wool is adorable. The dolls’ clothing is removable and reversible to let children create their own combinations. Popular Mechanics and Old Navy have a Kids Can Do Great Things Design Contest coming up that you all might be interested in for your children. Just imagine being able to win a shopping spree and have your child’s art work featured on the cover of Popular Mechanics! Sounds like fun to me!

Here’s the news we received Popular Mechanics:

Popular Mechanics, the brand that has long inspired adults with its hands-on explanations of the modern world, will now also be accessible to the next generation of curious minds. The magazine has partnered with Old Navy to develop a line of limited-edition T-shirts for infants, toddlers and kids. Featuring four designs inspired by vintage, transportation-themed Popular Mechanics cover art, the collection will be available in Old Navy stores nationwide and at oldnavy.com in mid-January. T-shirts will be priced between $10.50-$12.50 each.

Popular Mechanics and Old Navy are also inviting kids up to the age of 12 to share their own vision of the future of transportation with the Kids Can Do Great Things Design Contest. Throughout its 100-plus year history, Popular Mechanics has captured the excitement and promise of new transportation technology in its cover images. The Kids Can Do Great Things Design Contest invites kids to create an original design for a Popular Mechanics cover with this same theme. Entry forms will be available in stores nationwide starting February 5. The winner will receive a $500 shopping spree at Old Navy and have his or her design featured in an upcoming issue of Popular Mechanics. The magazine will also donate $500 on the winner’s behalf towards FIRST Robotics, a non-profit organization that furthers science education.
